The Drive³ Peak was originally developed under the Brose umbrella as the successor to the popular Drive S-Mag. Now part of Yamaha, the drive system is entering the market under the new Brose brand. Delivering significantly more power in a more compact size, it effortlessly surpasses its predecessor while preserving its natural ride feel and low noise level for 2026.

Input vs. Output: Qore Drive³ Peak
Qore avoids any wild experiments when it comes to tuning the boost support. The motor requires around 160 watts of rider input to reach its maximum output of around 700 watts. Generating higher power output demands a higher cadence. For those looking for even more assistance, the additional support level "Punch" is available.

Profile: Qore Drive³ Peak
There are two special cases among the assistance modes: Punch mode—which acts as a continuous boost toggleable via a dedicated button—delivers over 800% assistance, allowing the Drive³ Peak to reach maximum output with just around 70 watts of rider input. By contrast, OneMode features a highly progressive tune, though its support only kicks in at around 140 watts of rider effort.

Flawless: There is little more to say about the cadence response of the Qore Drive³ Peak. The motor delivers around 80% of its power at a cadence of approx. 70 rpm and hits its sweet spot at around 105 rpm. Its stability is impressive: the motor stays consistent up to around 135 rpm before dropping off sharply. However, this is unlikely to be relevant in real-world riding except in rare edge cases.
Thermal Performance

The Drive³ Peak held up for just over 11 minutes in our test before entering thermal derating at a housing temperature of around 90°C. Output drops fairly abruptly by over 25% before stabilizing at around 80% of its maximum power. This performance drop is clearly noticeable on the trail, and heavier riders in particular could easily hit this threshold during hot summer rides.
